Kasey is one of those women that I wonder; how does she do it all? She is one the funniest, knowledgeable and the hardest working publicist that I’ve ever met. I applaud her work ethic and her ability to balance her career, social life and being a mother with such grace.
What title is best to describe your work?
I am the Director of Publicity, Marketing & New Media for Digiwaxx Media. I also have my own company, Paper Media NYC where I specialize in small business branding through media relations and strategic marketing campaigns. I am also the mother of two children, Treylin (8) and London (2). woop woop!
Tell me about what you’ve been working on lately.
Lately I’ve been working on my artist Wish that I manage with Digiwaxx CEO, Corey CL Llewellyn and Erik Mendelson. Also Washington Koen Media is a client of Paper Media and I’ve been working on a 10 city campaign with them for their documentary Beyond The Bricks.
What are 3 things you must have or do, to get you through your day?
Three things I must have to get through my day…hmmmm….
1. My blackberry.
2. A phone call with my mother. We speak just about as much as I check my blackberry. She lives in Maryland and if I don’t speak to her by a certain time I get all nervous and anxious! Plus I will explode if I don’t have a willing ear to tell all the cute stuff the kids did the day before.
3. A great nanny. I’ve had situations where I wasn’t a 100% comfortable with our childcare choices and it ruins your day. Our current nanny doesn’t speak a lick of English but she’s been with my daughter for almost 2 years and she loves her like her own. She’s always there to help, even with my son. Love her!
Give me a run down of your average day:
6:45 AM - Alarm goes off
7:00 AM - I roll out of bed and wake up my 8-year-old son Treylin
7:05 AM - I go back in my sons room and yell at him for not getting up at 7AM
7:05 AM - Check my emails
7:10 AM - I jump in the shower
7:15 AM - Iron the days clothes threaten Treylin to hurry up
7:20 AM - Yell at Treylin some more
7:40 AM - Leave the house to bring Treylin to school
7:45 AM - Stop somewhere for a quick breakfast
8:15 AM - Drop Treylin off at school
8:20 AM - Get to the office (Treylin’s school is around the corner)
8:25 AM - Check my emails again while making a cup of coffee
8:30 AM - Troll the blogs for way too long
9:30 AM - Answer emails and write my to do list for the day
10:00 AM - Head home to switch off the baby duties with the old ball and chain(aka my BF)
10:20 AM - Get home, get London’s breakfast, change her diaper. Yell at boyfriend for not getting daughters breakfast and changing her diaper.
10:45 AM - Hand London off to the nanny
11:00 AM - Get to work!! (Either I’ll work from home or go back to the office)
3:05 PM - Get call from Treylin that he is at the office
4:00 PM - Arrive at the office and meet with any necessary staff. Check Trey’s homework
5:30 PM - Bring Treylin to football practice
6:15 PM - Reach home to relieve a relieved nanny
7:00 PM - Cook dinner
8:45 PM - Leave to go pick up Treylin from football practice
9:15 PM - Leave park for home
9:35 PM - Dinner and bath time
10:00 PM - Put Treylin to bed
10:30 PM - Lay down with London to put her to bed (She’s so spoiled it’s the only way she will go to sleep)
12:00 AM - Realize I fell asleep when I put London down and get up to clean up and do housework
1:00 AM - Old ball and chain gets home
1:30 AM - Go back to bed!
