Entrepreneurship. Inspiration. Art. Music. You know...sh*t I like.

A few weeks ago I was checking out Ouxu’s blog after she reached out to me with kind words about my blog’s vision. I realized how talented she is behind the camera AND with a make-up brush.  After telling her how dope she is; I asked her if she wouldn’t mind being featured in the “Spend 24hours with series” and I am so happy she agreed! What I love most, is that she lives in Holland(frequents NYC often so get at her!) and it shows that wanting to work outside the cubicle doesn’t just resonate with us in the states. Check her out.

What title is best to describe your work?

Right now it would be photographer to make it easy. Because that’s how I make my money. I’m also a make-up artist by profession.

Tell me what you’ve been working on lately.

Getting better at portrait photography.

What are 3 things you MUST have or do, to get through your day?

I must eat breakfast, freshen up/get dressed properly and work out to feel good.

Give me a run down of your average day:

8.55am Alarm goes off. I turn it off.

9.09am Second alarm goes off. I hit the snooze button. So tired. Hadn’t slept much in the last 3 days.

9.19am Hit the snooze button

9.29am Hit the snooze button

9.39am Hit the snooze button

9.49am Hit the snooze button

9.59am Hit the snooze button

10.09am Hit the snooze button

10.19am Turned off the alarm. Texted the visual merchandiser I will be at the store at noon. Hit the shower. Got dressed.

10.40am Breakfast is oatmeal with maple syrup and chai tea.

10.50am Threw together my photo equipment and my gym clothes.

11.10am On my way to Rotterdam to photograph a new installation at one of the Nike stores.

12.15am Arrived at the store. The visual merchandiser briefs me. Shot the installation.

12.45am Finished shooting. Talked with the employees and a friend who dropped by at the store. It was very inspiring talk I have to say. You never know where inspiration will come from.

1.05pm Lunch with my friend Jennifer who works in the city centre of Rotterdam at a bank. Hadn’t seen her in a while. It was great to see her.

1.45pm Finished lunch. Checked my schedule. Made some calls.

2.00pm Went to two shops to look for memory for my computer. No luck. My world stops without memory. So it’s urgent that I get one today.

2.30pm Work out time. I love going to gym locations in Rotterdam. I usually work out in Den Haag. I’ll go wherever I am working on that particular day. Sometimes Rotterdam, sometimes Amsterdam. I usually work out every other day.

5.00pm Finished working out. Shower. Sauna for 10 minutes.

5.30pm Headed to my photographer friend to pick up the key for the photo studio. I will be shooting some people tomorrow.

6.00pm Went to mediamarkt to pick up some memory.

6.30pm Arrived at my friend’s place. He showed me some of his recent work. Talked about retouching, ate pizza, watched TV.

10.50pm Back to Den Haag.

12.15pm Home. Browsed a bit online. Got my equipment ready for tomorrow’s shoot. Wanted to do some work before bedtime, but that didn’t happen.

1.40am Bedtime.
